Architecturally Designed Environments for Animals
The following environments below mimic the natural habitats of animals leaving them the feeling of the place where they belong. Moreover, these architectures provide them more space afar from human activity.
PANDA HOUSE IN COPENHAGEN
The Copenhagen Zoo opened a circular stadium for giant pandas last 2018. The spacious architectural environment is an indoor/outdoor structure which housed two pandas that were originated from Chengdu, China. A bamboo forest is present on one side of the structure. While on the other side is a misty forest. This structure shows the typical home of pandas in the wilderness.
RAVEN SHELTER IN LONDON TOWER
Raven’s den at the London Tower was inspired by an English legend to give attributes of traditional architecture. Historically, the story revolves around protecting the raven inside the tower. That’s why the birds became inhabitant and prison of the said palace.
It was believed that once the raven leaves the Tower of London, every one should expect the falling of the kingdom.
However, the architectural design is different from the primeval architecture of the tower. The new architecture has five stages with netted aviaries. This design substitutes the special shed collection which formerly became a shelter for the birds.
KANGAROO DEN IN COPENHAGEN
It was again in Copenhagen Zoo where the circular house intended for kangaroos of Tasmanian type located. This architectural structure give a great encounter with the kangaroos as visitors are permitted to enter the enclosure. But, animal lovers should not have to worry as the animals were not harmed and not stressed out during the human encounter.
The enclosure also has a warmed concrete flooring for the purpose of giving warmth to the kangaroos during winter season. In addition, a wooden door is present which can be folded. This provides more space to the expansive enclosure thus, providing privacy to other kangaroos as well.
